Hiring must evolve. The UK already has a skills shortage and critically, the skills business need and will need in the near future are evolving at a record pace. Adopting skills-based approaches in organisations is going to be essential in future. Change comes from organisations being able to accurately articulate the skills they need, job adverts and descriptions being clear on outcomes and skills so national skills strategies can ensure the UK thrives in future.

The Better Hiring Institute, its collaborators and employer network, have come together to support organisations across the UK to put skills first, aiming to give employers the tools to start to close the skills gap, in turn increasing employee retention and promoting inclusion.

The guidance brings together leading UK experts and UK government, working in collaboration with Reed Screening, PwC, Admiral, Clu, City & Guilds, amongst wider endorsement from various parliamentarians.
